“I normally prefer my privacy,” Sean explained, when asked what he wants people to know about him. “I have my own way of doing things.”
This month, Sean Wilson turns 36. For the past four years, he has lived in his home with supported living services through Bertha Izalee Matella (BIM).
In recognition of Autism Month this year, he’s celebrating how he’s reaching his goals and making connections with his community and support team, especially , Tatianna Cisneros. With these connections, he now enjoys going to restaurants and the grocery store to buy his own food. He’s also excited to have moved into his own space, helping move the boxes and furniture. He wants to have his own place one day. “Something simple. One-floor house with a kitchen, backyard, or some place in the city.”
Sean’s favorite thing to do is go to the movies. He also loves video games, writing, and spending time on the internet. He’s interested in working in related fields. “Maybe become a movie writer,” he said—something in the “action, adventure, or sci-fi” genre. His BIM team enjoys supporting Sean to identify and achieve his goals.
